Blade 1972 -1976

Blade, 1972 -1976, steel blade, motors, cork ball, wooden base, 285 x 180 x 180 cm.  A vibrating steel blade pounds away at a cork ball.  It is intended to stand anything up to 100 feet high and reflect light “like an Aztec monument to the sun”.  One plan of Lye’s is to arrange a large circle of Blades outdoors “all pulsating like a giant, kinetic, Stonehenge.”
