Water Whirler, 2006

Water Whirler , 2006, fibre glass wand, steel, motors 10.6 metres tall.  Lye designed several outdoor sculptures that used water.  Water Whirler is the first to be built and the display of water patterns it creates is spectacular, particularly when illuminated at night.

“A fantastic choreography of jet-streams fling their spray in three dimensions from a perforated oscillating stainless steel tube rising thirty-five feet above a pool of water.” – Len Lye
